Estas ampl\u00edan la licencia parental remunerada para incluir a padres del mismo sexo, adoptivos y\/o varones.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSi los hombres participan m\u00e1s en la crianza de los hijos, las mujeres pueden dedicar m\u00e1s tiempo a trabajar econ\u00f3micamente. Por lo tanto, esta enmienda ofrece una valiosa oportunidad para que las mujeres recuperen el acceso al lugar de trabajo\u201d, afirm\u00f3 Andre Lewaks, director de MenCare Sud\u00e1frica en Sonke Gender Justice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLa inclusi\u00f3n legislativa de la licencia parental para todos los padres aumentar\u00e1 la atenci\u00f3n disponible para los ni\u00f1os y contribuir\u00e1 a la divisi\u00f3n equitativa del trabajo de cuidado no remunerado, transformando la naturaleza actual de g\u00e9nero de dicho trabajo. Esta enmienda y las mejoras propuestas tambi\u00e9n contribuir\u00e1n a la igualdad de g\u00e9nero en el lugar de trabajo\u201d, dijo Kerryn Rehse, Coordinadora de Defensa de Pol\u00edticas en Mosaic.<\/p>\n<h3>Las cuatro mejoras que sugieren Sonke y Mosaic son:<\/h3>\n<p>1. Los padres del mismo sexo no tienen una legislaci\u00f3n espec\u00edfica que prevea licencias remuneradas para dos padres o dos madres. Por lo tanto, la legislaci\u00f3n sudafricana contempla el matrimonio entre personas del mismo sexo, pero no la crianza de los hijos por parte de personas del mismo sexo. Sonke y Mosaic sugieren una asignaci\u00f3n no espec\u00edfica por g\u00e9nero de las licencias remuneradas para los \u201cpadres\u201d y \u201ccuidadores\u201d, en lugar de para las \u201cmadres\u201d o los \u201cpadres\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>2. Actualmente, la licencia por maternidad se concede hasta por cuatro meses. Sonke y Mosaic sugieren que se aumente a seis meses la duraci\u00f3n m\u00ednima de la licencia concedida a los cuidadores principales, para permitir el per\u00edodo m\u00ednimo de lactancia materna exclusiva recomendado por la Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial de la Salud.<\/p>\n<p>3. Los padres adoptivos no tienen acceso a la licencia parental remunerada. Sonke y Mosaic sugieren que los padres adoptivos deber\u00edan tener acceso a la licencia parental remunerada desde el momento de la colocaci\u00f3n del ni\u00f1o.<\/p>\n<p>4. Las madres que dan a luz actualmente no cuentan con disposiciones que permitan a sus parejas apoyarlas durante el parto y la recuperaci\u00f3n. El per\u00edodo m\u00ednimo de recuperaci\u00f3n de una ces\u00e1rea es de 10 d\u00edas. Sonke y Mosaic sugieren un m\u00ednimo de 10 d\u00edas de licencia perinatal para todos los nuevos padres.
