\u201cEvid\u00eancias demonstraram que o engajamento masculino desempenha um papel central no enfrentamento da desigualdade de g\u00eanero. Ao envolver os homens em discuss\u00f5es de pol\u00edticas e programas, podemos confrontar as normas e valores de g\u00eanero subjacentes que levam a comportamentos discriminat\u00f3rios\u201d, disse Ferrais.<\/p>\n

\u201cAo envolver os homens, aprendemos que, quando se trata de incentivar o planejamento familiar, a sa\u00fade reprodutiva das mulheres, diminuir as taxas de viol\u00eancia contra as mulheres e mudar antigas concep\u00e7\u00f5es sobre masculinidade, os homens s\u00e3o importantes\u201d, continuou ele.<\/p>\n

A nova iniciativa, MenCare Papua, foi criada para envolver homens e meninos em Papua como cuidadores iguais e envolv\u00ea-los na promo\u00e7\u00e3o da sa\u00fade e dos direitos sexuais e reprodutivos; na melhoria da sa\u00fade materna, neonatal e infantil; e na preven\u00e7\u00e3o da viol\u00eancia de g\u00eanero. Desenvolvida pela Rutgers WPF Indonesia com apoio financeiro do UNFPA Indonesia, a iniciativa colaborar\u00e1 com governos locais e grupos da sociedade civil em Papua para envolver homens e meninos como defensores da n\u00e3o viol\u00eancia, parceiros na sa\u00fade e aliados na igualdade de g\u00eanero.<\/p>\n
