MenCare shares “Lessons from the Future” at CGI Annual Meeting

In 2011, Equimundo and its partners committed to launching MenCare, a global fatherhood campaign, at the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Annual Meeting. Four years later, the campaign has grown into a global movement active in more than 35 countries around the world.

Highlighting the campaign’s success, Equimundo’s International Director Gary Barker represented MenCare at this year’s CGI Annual Meeting, which was attended by more than 1,000 world leaders from the philanthropic, business, and government sectors. The campaign was one of eight initiatives selected for the CGI gallery “Lessons from the Future.”

The exhibition featured three MenCare films, which were unveiled at the 2015 meeting. These “MenCare Shorts,” based on longer films from the campaign, shine a spotlight on MenCare’s work to involve men in fatherhood and caregiving in Brazil, Rwanda, and South Africa.

Watch all three MenCare Shorts below:

MenCare Short: Brazil

In Brazil, Marcio tells the story of his troubled relationship with his father, and how he is doing things differently with his son.

MenCare Short: Rwanda

In Rwanda, Landuwari discovers the importance of sharing the care work and supporting women’s and girls’ empowerment.

MenCare Short: South Africa

In South Africa, Themba inspires his brother and soon-to-be father Andrew to be involved from the very beginning.
