Door-to-door campaign raises awareness about MenCare+ program activities in South Africa

This year, MOSAIC, a MenCare+ South Africa partner, has led three door-to-door campaigns, called “Knock and Drop,” in the Khayelitsha, Gugulethu, and Lavender Hill townships in Cape Town to raise awareness about the MenCare+ program and its activities with men and women in these communities. MenCare+ Rwanda carries out impact evaluation of fathers’ groups

Group education for young and expecting fathers is one of the cornerstones of the MenCare+ program in Rwanda. Since 2014, more than 1,000 men and their partners have participated in 15 weekly sessions to promote men’s greater involvement in caregiving and in maternal, newborn, and child health. Fathers' group participants, their partners, and community members report many positive outcomes, including men’s increased participation in antenatal care and delivery, and in sharing care work within the home. 

MenCare+ Rwanda launches “Pillars of Peace”

In March, MenCare+ Rwanda, known locally as “Bandebereho” (“role model”), will launch its men’s group therapy program “Pillars of Peace.” The Pillars of Peace groups will work with men to end cycles of violence and promote peace at home and in the community. The approach has been adapted from Living Peace, a program developed and 

South Africa distributes six new MenCare+ posters in media campaign

January 2015 has seen a large-scale distribution of new MenCare+ South Africa posters to partner organizations and stakeholders in the country, including health care facilities, psychosocial care providers, local government service providers, community-based organizations, and NGOs in support of the MenCare+ focus areas. The MenCare+ South Africa poster series is made up of six posters
